Ingredients

Chamadumpalu/Taro Root/Colocasia  250gms

3-4 tsp oil

1 tsp mustard seeds

1 tsp urad dal

1/2 tsp jeera

1 big onion—make as a paste

1 big tomato—make as a paste

1/2 tsp ginger-garlic paste

pinch of turmeric

1 tsp red chilli pwd

1 tsp dhaniya pwd

1 big lemon sized tamarind juice

curry leaves

salt to taste

Method

Pressure cook the TaroRoot for 2 whistles……let them cool,peel off the skin and cut into small cubes…..

In a pan add oil and allow it to heat……then add mustard seeds,urad dal,jeera one-by-one and fry for a minute……add the onion paste and cook till it changes the colour to light brown then add tomato puree and cook till the oil oozes out …..add turmeric,red chilli pwd ,dhaniya pwd,ginger-garlic paste ,curry leaves and fry for a minute……curry starts sticking to the vessel then add Taroroot and fry for a minute or two…..

now, add tamarind juice till the Taroroot are half soaked…..add salt and check the tanginess of the curry……if it is more tangy add some water and salt……or if it is less tangy add some tamarind juice……cook with closed lid for 5mts and switch off the stove…..
