Mirchi Bajji

Ingredients

green pepper/mirchi

1 cup gram flour

1/4th cup rice flour

pinch of cooking soda

salt to taste

red chilli powder (optional)

1 cup water

ajwain seeds(vamu in telugu) as required

oil to deep fry

finely chopped onions

1 lemon… juice

Method

Wash and dry the peppers……slit the peppers length wise keeping the ends intact…..now stuff the pepper with a pinch of ajmain seeds and keep aside…..repeat the same with the remaining peppers ……

prepare the batter with gram flour,rice flour,salt,red chilli powder,cooking soda some water…..the batter should be like a dosa or pancake batter consistency……mix well without any lumps and keep aside…….

now,dip the peppers one by one ┬áinto the gram flour batter coating them well with batter on all the sides and drop them gently into the hot oil…..2-3 bajjis can be fried at a time…..

deep fry till they turn golden brown and crispy…..toss then gently with a spatula so that they are equally cooked on all the sides….drain the excess oil with the spatula and place them on an absorbent paper…..

now again slit the bajji’s length wise keeping the ends intact and stuff with redchilli pwd ,salt,lemon coated finely chopped onions and serve hot with tomato sauce or you can jus eat the bajji…..
