Ingredients

Mutton 500gms

Oil 6-7 tsp

Salt as required

Chilli powder 2tsp

Turmeric pinch of

Ginger-garlic paste 3tsp

Onions 2 big

Greenchillies 7-8

Tamarind pulp 1 cup

Tomatoes 2 medium sized

Curry leaves

Coriander leaves

Coriander Powder      2 tsp

Jeera Powder       1 tsp

water       as required

Method

Cut the mutton into pieces,clean it and take that in a cooker…

Add water to the mutton,so that mutton is half covered,add turmeric,salt,red chili powder,11/2 tsp G-G paste…..and pressure cook for 6-7 whistes….

Soak the tamarind in warm water for 2-3 mts…..and then extract the pulp….keep this aside….

Meanwhile,in a cooking vessel add oil and saute the chopped green chillies and onions till they are translucent….

Now,add remaining G-G paste and fry for 1-2 mts in between making stirs or else it sticks to the bottom..

Add curry leaves and chopped tomatoes….cook covered until the tomatoes are so soft….

Add turmeric,red chili powder….

If your mutton is ready keep aside and don’t throw away the boiled water….

Now,if the tomatoes are soft add the mutton pieces and cook for a minute….

Then add the tamarind pulp…..and the boiled mutton water…..

Mix well….check the salt and tanginess……you can add more tamarind if you need….

Now,add coriander and jeera powders…..

Bring to a boil….for 3-4 mts….

Garnish with coriander leaves and serve….

Goes great with hot rice….. 🙂
