Undrallu/Aaridi

This is a very easy recipe and this requires rice-flour,jaggery,grated coconut,water and elaichi powder.First you need to prepare the riceflour pipes.Then, add these pipes in the boiling jaggery solution containing grated coconut and wait till the consistency increases.This sweet is usually prepared during festival time especially during Vinayakachavithi.This is my favourite sweet and my Mom used to prepare this for me whenever i want to eat it.

Ingredients
Rice Flour 1 Cup(Seive the flour before you use it)
Jaggery 1 Cup
grated coconut 1/2 cup
elaichi powder 1 tsp
water 3 cups(11/2 for riceflour and 11/2 for jaggery solution)
pich of salt

Procedure

  • Take a cooking vessel and add 11/2 cup water and let it boil.Once it is boiling add salt and riceflour and close the lid without mixing it.Wait for 5-10mts and open the lid.The riceflour will stick to the vessel don’tworry.Now,switch off the stove and mix it well.Keep it aside and let it cool.
  • Once it is cooled take a small lemon sized riceflour ball and prepare riceflour pipes of 2 to 3 inch in length by rolling it over a chapathi plate.Use riceflour powder in between to prepare riceflour pipes or else it will stick to your hand.Complete th rice flour pipes with the remaining riceflour dough and keep aside.
  • Now,in a cooking vessel add 11/2 cup water,1 cup jaggery and let it boil.Once it is boiling add elaichi powder and grated coconut and wait for 2-3 mts.Now,add riceflour pipes and wait till the consistenccy increases approxiamately for 15-20mts and switch off the stove.
  • serve hot.
