Prawns n tomato curry

Ingredients

500gms prawns

2 medium sized onions

3 green chillies

1 medium sized tomato

1 tsp ginger-garlic paste

pinch of turmeric

2 tsp red chilli pwd

salt as required

5-6  tsp oil

2 tsp garam masala

10 tsp coconut milk(optional)

3tsp grated coconut(grate the coconut and fry in a pan without oil till the coconut turns light brown)

water as required

Method

devein and clean the prawns…..heat a pan and add prawns to it and fry without oil till the prawns form into circles  and all the water comes out of the prawns……..and keep aside

now take another vessel add 1tsp oil and add the prawns and fry them for a minute…..then  add pinch of turmeric,1/2 tsp red chilli pwd ,some salt and fry till the prawns stick to the vessel and switch off the stove….keep aside…….

chop the onions into bigger pieces and grind them along with green chillies….

now,in a cooking vessel add oil and let it heat……once it is hot add onion-green chilli paste and fry adding some salt till the onions turn brown…..now,add semi-fried prawns and mix well…….add finely chopped tomatoes  and cook till the tomatoes are soft……now add pinch of turmeric,red chilli pwd  mix well and add ginger-garlic paste and cook for a minute…..as you have added ginger-garlic paste the curry sticks to the vessel so keep stirring and add a tsp of water to avoid stickiness……add garam masala fry for a minute and add 10 tsp coconut milk mix well and cook till you get a thick gravy and add grated coconut and switch off the stove……

serve hott with biriyani,rice….also goes great with roti…..
